Hi! I’m Lauren, a freelance translator and tutor from Manchester, UK.

After graduating with a Master’s Degree in translation in 2023, I became a freelancer, offering Spanish, Italian, and French to English translation services and GCSE and A-Level Spanish and French private tuition, all to help people traverse linguistic barriers and communicate across cultures.

Translation Services

I specialise in Spanish, Italian and French to English tourism translation, helping your business to communicate what makes your destination special to English-speaking customers worldwide. My focus is always on preserving as much of the cultural uniqueness of your text as possible while ensuring your message resonates with its intended audience.

I translate a wide range of texts, from blog posts to website content, ensuring your customers are taken care of at every stage of the travel process.

Tutoring Services

Before I became a translator, my first love was language learning, and I love that I now get to share that passion with students through my private tutoring service. I currently offer GCSE and A-Level tutoring sessions in Spanish and French via Cambridge Online Tutors, helping students to excel in their exams and achieve their language-learning goals.

All of my tutoring sessions are tailored to you, so we can work on anything from vocabulary expansion and speaking practice to verb conjugation and exam skills.

Qualified Linguist and Translator

I graduated in 2023 with an MA in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Manchester after graduating in 2022 with a BA in Modern Language Studies (specialising in Spanish and Italian), meaning that I am both a qualified linguist and a qualified translator.

Throughout both of my degrees, I studied a wide range of modules including language-related, cultural-related and translation technique-related courses, providing me with the knowledge I use on a daily basis to complete my translations and deliver my tutoring sessions.

Extensive Experience

I have extensive experience as both a translator and tutor. As a translator, I have worked on projects with TED Translators, Certling, Cavas Al Sinac and Big Translation. I have also worked as a tutor for a number of high schools and colleges, both online and in person, including Walkden High School, St. Ambrose Barlow RC High School, Pendleton College, and, most recently, the Spark Online school based in Romania.

Travel Enthusiast

One of the main reasons why I chose to specialise in tourism translation, and why I love promoting language learning, is due to my passion for travel. I take as many opportunities as I can to travel in my free time, picking up new cultural insights on every trip. As a frequent traveller, particularly to Spain and Italy, I also read a lot of the type of texts I translate, meaning that I know exactly what your target audience is looking for because I am that audience on a regular basis.
